Why does no one take this job seriously? Why does no love this job?

As far as I can tell, in the modern era (post Shug), we’ve had three coaches take this job as seriously as it needs to be taken: Pat Dye, Tommy Tuberville, and Gene Chizik.

For the rest of them, we were simply some sort of social / professional experiment. Gus wanted to leverage his success here for the Browns job (lolol), Harsin gave absolutely no fvcks about anything in particular. Tot started off taking it seriously but quiet quit in year 3. And now we have Hew. Not gonna elaborate on that.

Why does no one love us, fambly? Do we not deserve another Dye at this point? Or at least another Tuberville? Someone who says they’re going to do something, and then they do it. Someone who is proud to be the coach here. Someone who doesn’t want to be the coach of some also-ran, but the coach of the gd Auburn Tigers, a championship program.

I just don’t understand why we get used, cheated, and manipulated over and over.
